Films by Uzbek directors receive three prestigious awards at festival in Russia

SOCHI, July 3. /Dunyo IA/. At the conclusion of the second International film festival "Eurasia-Kinofest" held in Sochi, films by three Uzbek directors were honored with major awards, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the Russian publication "Arguments of the Week", the prize for "Best Film Debut" was awarded to young Uzbek director Arutyun Sagaletyan for his film Sumalyak. The jury noted that the team from Uzbekistan demonstrated exceptional diligence and creativity.

In the documentary competition, the film "The Meaning of Life" by Ulugbek Yuldashev was featured — a portrayal of Nazira Abduazizova, an honored mentor of youth, professor, and one of the founders of Uzbek journalism. The film explores the lives of people for whom journalism is a true calling.

Additionally, the press award was presented to the documentary film by Uzbek director Eldar Yuldashev, titled "Taymetov". Herald of Victory tells the story of Uzbek pilot Abdusamat Taymetov, who delivered the Act of Germany’s capitulation and the Victory Banner to Moscow.
