ALMATY, April 21. /Dunyo IA/.  Diplomats from the Consulate General of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the “Vatandoshlar” Public Foundation, organized a gala reception on the occasion of the Navruz holiday, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The Consul General of Uzbekistan, Raushanbek Matchanov and the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the “Vatandoshlar” Public Foundation Bolidin Sanaev, delivered congratulatory speeches at the festive event.

During his address, Raushanbek Matchanov highlighted the history and traditions of the “Navruz” holiday, paying special attention to the interethnic interaction between the Uzbek people and representatives of other nations and ethnicities. He also touched upon aspects of Uzbekistan’s peaceful foreign policy and noted the positive dynamics in the development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

In his speech, Bolidin Sanaev detailed the activities and key functions of the “Vatandoshlar” Foundation, emphasizing its role in implementing Uzbekistan’s state policy on cooperation with compatriots abroad. Particular attention was paid to Uzbekistan's modern approaches to establishing systematic and long-term engagement with the diaspora, aimed at strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, preserving national identity and supporting the initiatives of compatriots.

The address specifically highlighted the measures being taken to protect the rights and legal interests of citizens abroad, expand educational and cultural programs and encourage their contribution to the country’s development.

It was emphasized that Uzbekistan’s modern policy in this field is consistent and comprehensive, aimed at building stable ties with compatriots living abroad based on the principles of mutual trust, partnership and support.

As part of the festivities, an exhibition of decorative and applied arts was organized. It featured items crafted in the national style, including examples of ceramics, textiles, embroidery and other handicrafts that reflect the unique identity and centuries-old traditions of the Uzbek people. Overall, the event was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
