Tashkent Metallurgical Plant: Paving the Path to a Greener Future

TASHKENT, May 2. /"Dunyo" IA/. Tashkent Metallurgical Plant hosted the environmental festival "Eco Fest", reports "Dunyo" IA correspondent.

The event featured a plant tour and showcased ecological achievements, along with an Eco-fair where manufacturers demonstrated how they transform raw materials into products.

Visitors included local residents, international guests, entrepreneurs, students, and foreign diplomats.

"Dunyo" IA correspondent talked with both the organizers and attendees.

Advisor to the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Matnazar Elmurodov:

– Today, the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant exports products to more than 15 countries, including Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and other CIS countries. Shipments have also been made to Germany, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Finland. TMZ is the largest manufacturer of cold-rolled zinc and polymer-coated steel coils in Central Asia and is recognized as one of the environmentally friendly enterprises in its industry.

We are pleased that the plant is incorporating advanced technology and automating production processes, implementing waste-free production. This has earned the plant the status of a "Green Enterprise".

In 2024, TMZ began investing in environmental projects "Clean Energy" and "Clean Air", and also started introducing new technologies to reduce waste volume during its sale and disposal.

Ambassador of Slovakia Viktor Boretsky:

– This is my second visit to the plant. TMZ has established cooperation with Slovakia, and we certainly support its initiatives. If production continues to develop and achieve good results, it also creates opportunities for environmental investment. Organizing the festival is crucial as it highlights the overall aspects of production.

The "Eco Fest" provided an opportunity to assess TMZ's efforts in environmental protection and to enhance environmental awareness and appeal to young professionals. Such events also facilitate open communication and the exchange of ideas, building new effective and stable relationships to address pressing environmental issues.
