Uzbekistan Embassy hosts screening of documentary film on Earth Day

LONDON, April 28. /Dunyo IA/. On the occasion of Earth Day, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London hosted a screening of the documentary film Six Inches of Soil, directed by British filmmaker Colin Ramsay, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event gathered representatives from British scientific, academic, and public circles, as well as students and fellow countrymen.
During the opening presentation, Ambassador Ravshan Usmanov spoke to the participants about the large-scale reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, the current state and prospects of Uzbek-British cooperation, as well as the activities and key tasks of the Climate Council, which was established at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the Ambassador also reminded attendees of the outcomes of the first Samarkand Climate Forum, held on April 4-5.
It is worth noting that filmmaker Colin Ramsay and the crew highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s contribution and responsibility in addressing issues related to climate change, environmental protection, combating dust storms, improving air quality, and fostering international environmental cooperation.
Six Inches of Soil is a British documentary project focused on regenerative agriculture and agroecology. The film showcases the experiences of young farmers, demonstrating soil restoration methods and healthy food production, as well as environmentally sustainable approaches to soil recovery, biodiversity restoration, and climate change mitigation.
