Chinese companies show strong interest in investing in Uzbekistan

BEIJING, April 16. /Dunyo IA/. A presentation of Uzbekistan’s trade, economic, investment, and tourism potential was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing with the participation of representatives of leading Chinese companies, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event brought together companies operating in trade, industry, the green economy, agriculture and water management, information technology, education, construction, energy, and other sectors.
Participants were presented with investment opportunities across Uzbekistan’s regions, including conditions for foreign investors such as free economic and industrial zones, tax and customs incentives, as well as promising investment projects.
Chinese participants noted that cooperation between the two countries in trade, economic, and investment spheres continues to strengthen, while interest among investors from the People’s Republic of China in Uzbekistan is steadily growing amid an improving investment climate.
During the presentation, special attention was given to the development of an industrial growth model for the Syrdarya region, with the involvement of Chinese investment and the creation of favorable infrastructure for joint projects.
Particular focus was also placed on tourism. It was emphasized that following the introduction of a visa-free regime, the flow of Chinese tourists has increased significantly, with approximately 300,000 Chinese citizens visiting Uzbekistan last year. In the future, this figure is expected to reach 1 million.
The event also featured B2B and G2B meetings between Uzbek and Chinese companies. As a result, participants expressed their readiness to implement joint investment projects.
President of China Science Assistance Technology Group, Li Jinzhe, stated:
- Today we took part in a business forum organized at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing. We received detailed information about your country’s trade, economic, and investment potential and were satisfied with the conditions being created for foreign investors.
Our company supports Chinese enterprises interested in cooperation and investment in areas such as education, healthcare, sports, the food industry, digital technologies, and other sectors.
We intend to facilitate the expansion of interaction between Chinese business and Uzbekistan, strengthening investor confidence and contributing to deeper bilateral cooperation.
Rector of the SCO Institute of Industrial Integration, Qian Zhou, noted:
- I am pleased to participate in this event organized at the Embassy. The presentations allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of the large-scale reforms and transformations being implemented under the leadership of Shavkat Mirziyoyev in all sectors.
The achievements in industrial development and urban planning, recognized at the international level, are particularly impressive. We hope to take part in projects related to industrial modernization, urban development, and other areas.
We are confident that Chinese experience and solutions can contribute to Uzbekistan’s development, and that our cooperation will further strengthen friendly relations between our countries.
