Pakistani Textile Company expresses interest in cooperation with manufacturers of Uzbekistan

ISLAMABAD, July 15. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev held an online meeting with Khurram Mukhtar, Director of “Sadaqat Limited”, one of Pakistan's largest textile companies, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further expanding cooperation between the two countries in the textile industry, attracting Pakistani investments into the economy of Uzbekistan, implementing joint production projects and increasing export potential.
Information was presented to the Pakistani side on the reforms underway in Uzbekistan aimed at modernizing the textile industry, increasing the production volume of high-value-added products and expanding the geography of exports. The favorable conditions for foreign investors were also noted, including the provided tax and customs privileges, as well as the opportunities within free economic zones and industrial clusters.
Parties exchanged views on the existing opportunities for exporting textile products manufactured in Uzbekistan to the markets of Central Asia, the CIS countries, and Europe. In particular, it was noted that Uzbekistan's utilization of the European Union's “GSP+” preferential system creates conditions for supplying domestic products to the European market on a duty-free basis.
In addition, during the negotiations, the prospects for creating joint textile enterprises in the regions of Uzbekistan, introducing modern technologies and advanced management practices, applying international quality standards, as well as integrating local manufacturers into global supply chains were reviewed.
Special attention was paid to the possibilities of developing textile enterprises in Uzbekistan operating with low capacity utilization through effective management with the participation of “Sadaqat Limited”.
“Until now, our company has been purchasing yarn and certain types of fabrics produced in Uzbekistan through intermediaries, - head of the company, Khurram Mukhtar, noted. - In the future, we are ready to establish direct cooperation with major manufacturers in Uzbekistan, procure high-quality yarn and fabric products based on long-term contracts and form a sustainable supply mechanism taking into account our requirements for a six-month period”.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize online negotiations with the participation of relevant organizations of Uzbekistan and “Sadaqat Limited” to establish direct business ties between the Pakistani company and major textile enterprises of the country.
