BERLIN, December 9. /Dunyo IA/. A ceremonial inauguration was held in the German capital to mark the opening of the first Trade House and Exhibition Centre of Uzbek Products, operating under the name “UZ Trade House Germany GmbH”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

This milestone became possible through the joint initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany and a consortium of German entrepreneurs.

The Trade House is located within the historic “Adlon” Hotel, just steps away from the iconic Brandenburg Gate - one of Berlin’s most recognizable landmarks. Its showcases will feature a permanent display of Uzbek export products, including textiles, agricultural goods, food items, electrical engineering products, and a range of other industrial commodities.

The event brought together more than 150 participants, including members of the German Bundestag, representatives of leading companies and business circles, as well as members of the media.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dilshod Akhatov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Germany, noted that the newly inaugurated “UZ Trade House Germany GmbH” located in central Berlin, has been granted the status of an official partner of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Germany. He expressed his appreciation to the German entrepreneurs who initiated the establishment of the Trade House, emphasizing that the new platform will contribute to expanding exports of various Uzbek products and raw materials to the German market. The head of the diplomatic mission underscored that favourable conditions are being created for German investors, adding that the Trade House is expected to play a significant role in further deepening bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

It was highlighted that, as a result of the wide-ranging reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years, the country’s gross domestic product and industrial output have grown substantially, while overall economic growth remains stable. Mutual trade with Germany has also been steadily expanding. At the same time, Uzbekistan’s export volumes have been rising dynamically, reaching an entirely new level.

Also addressing the ceremony were Saskia Ludwig, Member of the German Bundestag and member of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Affairs Committee and Energy Committee; Johnny Bakos, General Director of the Uzbekistan Trade House in Germany and Andreas Jahnlar, Member of the Federal Executive Board of BVMW - Bundesverband mittelständische Wirtschaft e.V. - the German Association of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses. They noted that, thanks to the consistent and effective reforms carried out in Uzbekistan, the country’s economic and trade potential has been steadily increasing, leading to growing interest from European and particularly German - companies in expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan. They emphasized that the opening of the Uzbekistan Trade House in the heart of the German capital serves as clear, practical evidence of this trend. Germany, alongside other major economies, has expressed its intention to further deepen economic cooperation with Uzbekistan.

It is noteworthy that the Trade House will serve as a unique bridge between Uzbek and German companies, facilitating the supply of textiles, light industry goods, agricultural products, electrical engineering items, and other merchandise produced under the “Made in Uzbekistan” brand to the German market. It is also expected to foster closer cooperation between business representatives from both countries.

Some of the event’s participants shared their perspectives with a correspondent from Dunyo IA correspondent.

Saskia Ludwig, Member of the German Bundestag and member of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Affairs Committee and Energy Committee, said:

- I consider the opening of the Trade House and Exhibition Centre in Germany, initiated by Uzbekistan, to be a remarkable development in the field of trade and economic cooperation. It is noteworthy that the initiative is aimed at showcasing Uzbek products and expanding collaboration with Germany. Thanks to the film presented at the event, we were able to gain further insight into your country as a unique and economically developed nation. Our countries possess significant potential for cooperation: Germany has the opportunity to export German technologies and know-how to Uzbekistan, while importing highly demanded goods from there. I wish continued success to the trade relations between Uzbekistan and Germany.

Johnny Bakos, General Director of the Uzbek Trade House in Germany, said:

- The purpose of this exhibition centre is to showcase Uzbekistan’s trade and economic potential in a setting that is as comfortable and accessible as possible for German entrepreneurs, allowing them to familiarize themselves with Uzbek products.

First and foremost, Trade House serves as a primary point of contact and a reference for German companies seeking to cooperate with Uzbekistan, invest, or visit the country. Currently, economic relations between the two countries are steadily developing. I believe it is very important for Uzbek and German companies to meet and conduct business together. Trade turnover and volumes are consistently increasing; we have reached over one billion dollars annually, and these figures continue to grow.

The exhibition centre features products that are in high demand on the German market. For instance, visitors can see copper pipes produced at the Technopark, which enjoy significant demand. Uzbekistan has also achieved notable success in supplying high-quality textiles and frozen fruits, both of which are highly sought after in Germany.

Our goal is to facilitate imports and exports to Uzbekistan for German companies and to assist them in investing in the country. The renowned “Adlon” Hotel is an excellent venue for getting acquainted with Uzbekistan. It hosts numerous major economic events attended by prospective entrepreneurs.

Andreas Jahnlar, Member of the Federal Executive Board of BVMW - Bundesverband mittelständische Wirtschaft e.V. - the German Association of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses, said:

- Relations between our countries are developing steadily and consistently. German medium-sized enterprises also play a significant role in trade and economic relations and are highly interested in cooperation in the textile industry, automotive sector, and renewable energy. Representatives of the Mittelstand are also actively engaged in sectors such as water treatment, agriculture, land use, food processing, mechanical engineering, and agricultural machinery.

In June 2026, we have planned a delegation visit to Uzbekistan, which will include the Uzbekistan-Germany Economic Forum. The Uzbek market offers security, stability, and reliable conditions - an important factor in achieving mutual success.
