Charity event “Journey to Uzbekistan” held in Moscow

• 202MOSCOW, May 26. /Dunyo IA/. A charity cultural event titled “Journey to Uzbekistan” was held at the Park of the 850th Anniversary of Moscow, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan for children with special needs, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event aimed to support children with disabilities, promote intercultural dialogue, and highlight Uzbekistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
The celebration brought together around 60 families raising children with disabilities. Guests were offered a rich cultural and educational program introducing them to Uzbekistan’s traditions, arts, national cuisine, and hospitality.
The festive atmosphere was filled with warmth, care, and sincere attention to the children and their families. A special highlight of the program was the performance by the national dance group “Nilufar” which presented colourful choreographic pieces “Stars of Uzbekistan” and the famous Uzbek dance “Lazgi,” included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
The performers showcased the richness of national culture, artistic excellence, and the beauty of Uzbek traditions, receiving enthusiastic responses from the audience.
The event also featured a thematic exhibition dedicated to Uzbekistan’s cultural, historical, and tourism potential. Visitors explored informational materials about ancient cities, architectural monuments, traditional crafts, and modern tourism opportunities in the country.
A separate entertainment program was organized for children, including workshops, creative activities, and animation shows. Young participants actively engaged in interactive games and contests while learning elements of Uzbek folk art.
One of the key highlights of the event was the preparation of traditional Uzbek plov, which attracted strong interest and became a symbol of hospitality and friendship between peoples.
The charity initiative contributed to strengthening humanitarian and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Russia, while also drawing attention to Uzbekistan’s rich historical and tourism heritage among Moscow residents and visitors.
