“Okaz”: Saudi-Uzbek economic cooperation enters a new strategic phase

RIYADH, June 24. /Dunyo IA/. The authoritative Riyadh-based newspaper “Okaz” has published an interview with Faisal Abdullah, Executive Director of the Saudi-Uzbek Business Council, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The interview focused on the current state and prospects of economic and investment cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan, as well as mechanisms for supporting private-sector representatives within the framework of the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum.

Faisal Abdullah emphasized that the international standing of the Tashkent International Investment Forum continues to grow year by year. According to him, the holding of the seventh meeting of entrepreneurs from the two countries on the sidelines of the forum reflects the strength of bilateral economic ties and demonstrates the mutual commitment to expanding trade and investment cooperation, while creating new opportunities for partnership between the private sectors of Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan.

“The primary mission of the Saudi-Uzbek Business Council is to strengthen economic relations between the two countries by increasing mutual investment, expanding trade turnover, and enhancing cooperation among private-sector representatives.

The Council seeks to serve as an effective platform for supporting investors and entrepreneurs by providing information on investment opportunities, facilitating engagement with relevant institutions, and helping businesses take advantage of the investment incentives available in both countries”, - Faisal Abdullah stated.

During the interview, several promising areas of bilateral cooperation were identified, including energy, mining, infrastructure, manufacturing, tourism, agriculture, logistics, and healthcare. These sectors fully align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and Uzbekistan’s national development agenda.

Faisal Abdullah also noted that a number of contracts and memorandums of understanding were signed between Saudi and Uzbek companies during the forum. He stressed that the key priority following the event is to translate the agreements reached into practical implementation and transform them into tangible investment projects.

Concluding the interview, he underscored that the Saudi-Uzbek Business Council will continue to facilitate ongoing dialogue between the public and private sectors of both countries and expand cooperation beyond traditional industries into the fields of innovation and high technology through the organization of joint trade and investment missions.
