“Global News Pakistan”: Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies receives attention at the level of state policy in Uzbekistan

ISLAMABAD, November 6. /Dunyo IA/. Pakistani news agency “Global News Pakistan” published an article titled “Security in the Field of Artificial Intelligence: Within the Framework of International Cooperation”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

On November 6th, an international conference on “Security in the Field of Artificial Intelligence” will be held in Astana, the publication writes. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will take part in the event.

“Development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies is currently one of the key priorities of state policy in Uzbekistan,” the author emphasizes. “At the same time, technologies themselves and the system of their legal regulation are developing in a coordinated manner. In October 2024, Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies until 2030 was approved”.

Article notes that the document provides for bringing the volume of AI-based software products and services to $1.5 billion, creating scientific laboratories, and placing the country among the top 50 nations in the Government AI Readiness Index. It is also reported that a Presidential Decree of October 2025 set the task of establishing 15 artificial intelligence laboratories in higher education institutions by the end of 2026 and in 2026, Uzbekistan joined the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO).

“Today, application of artificial intelligence technologies in Uzbekistan is transitioning from the implementation of isolated projects to the stage of systemic utilization. In July 2026, the first supercomputer powered by NVIDIA technologies was commissioned at the ‘Digital Government’ data center, ranking 321st globally in computing power. During its first month of operation, the workload on the computing cluster reached 90 percent, indicating a high demand for AI capacity. Over the next year, these resources are planned to be expanded threefold”, publication states.

Furthermore, it is reported that Uzbekistan has advanced by 25 positions in the Government AI Readiness Index, securing 62nd place. This, in the author's assessment, clearly reflects the effective nature of the ongoing reforms within international rankings. By 2030, the republic aims to enter the top 50 leading countries in the world in this indicator.

In conclusion, article notes: “International Conference on Security in the Field of Artificial Intelligence in Astana is highly relevant not only for Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan but also for other states. During the forum, ways to resolve existing challenges in this field will be discussed, and mechanisms for interstate cooperation to overcome them will be proposed. Uzbekistan, drawing upon its accumulated experience, will make a worthy contribution to the work of the conference and the formulation of its final outcomes”.
