ROME, July 19. /Dunyo IA/. Italy’s leading newspaper “La Nazione” has published an article titled “Giani Looks East. The Tuscany–Uzbekistan Axis: New Opportunities for Business,” highlighting the official visit of Tuscany Governor Eugenio Giani to Uzbekistan and prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The article, written by Caterina Ceccuti, notes that the three-day mission aimed to strengthen economic, cultural, and scientific ties between Tuscany and Uzbekistan’s regions. High-level talks during the visit gave the partnership broader strategic significance, creating new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.
The publication highlights Eugenio Giani’s meetings with the leadership of the Samarkand and Bukhara regions, where the sides discussed cooperation in trade, industry, agriculture, tourism, cultural heritage preservation, scientific research, and professional training.
Special attention was given to the signing in Bukhara of a memorandum on cooperation in tourism, fashion and textile industries, pharmaceuticals, biomedical technologies, joint investment projects, and academic exchanges.
A key moment of the visit was Governor’s meeting with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during which both sides reaffirmed their interest in deepening trade and economic cooperation and launching new joint initiatives.
The article emphasizes the strong potential for cooperation in textiles, leather production, agriculture, jewellery, marble processing, and industrial partnerships. It notes that Uzbekistan is becoming one of the most promising partners for Italian businesses in Central Asia, while Tuscany can serve as an important bridge for expanding economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
