ISLAMABAD, July 18. /Dunyo IA/. Pakistani news agency “Associated Press of Pakistan” published an article on the implementation of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles in the development system of state-owned enterprises of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
It is noted that the implementation of the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy, the transition to a “green” economy, the development of social policy, increasing the transparency of governance and the fight against corruption form a unified system of sustainable development in the country.
Particular attention was paid to measures for the institutional strengthening of ESG principles. In particular, it is noted that the corresponding decision of the Government of Uzbekistan finalized the procedure for implementing environmental, social and governance standards, preparing ESG reporting, and disclosing information on sustainability performance indicators.
Publication emphasizes that for Uzbekistan, the transition to a 'green' economy is an objective necessity, given the scarcity of water resources, climate change, and the consequences of the Aral Sea ecological disaster.
Digital monitoring, state agency performance, ESG reporting for state-owned enterprises and climate-related MRV systems are being developed in Uzbekistan.
ESG has transitioned from an external requirement to a core long-term economic strategy aimed at enhancing investor confidence and reforming sustainability.
