Uzbekistan showcases textile products at international exhibition in South Africa for the first time

• 68CAPE TOWN, July 18. /Dunyo IA/. With the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Doha, a delegation of Uzbekistan's textile industry is participating for the first time in the international AllFashion Sourcing Cape Town 2026 exhibition in South Africa, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The opening ceremony was attended by Rukhullo Zikrillayev, Deputy Director of the Agency for the Development of Uzbekistan's Light Industry, as well as diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan.
This year's exhibition has brought together around 3,000 participants from 12 countries, with approximately 150 companies showcasing their products and services.
Uzbekistan is represented by a 90-square-meter national pavilion, where leading domestic textile manufacturers, including Mollis, Bonito Textiles, and Sultontex, are exhibiting ready-made garments, knitwear, cotton yarn, fabrics, and other value-added textile products.
As part of the business program, the Uzbek delegation held meetings with Michael Lawrence, Chief Executive Officer of South Africa's National Clothing Retail Federation (NCRF), as well as representatives of major companies, including Woolworths, Mr Price, and Pepkor.
Products manufactured by Uzbek textile enterprises attracted strong interest from South African partners. The discussions focused on the supply of Uzbek textile products to the South African market, cooperation in procurement and distribution, and the participation of Uzbek companies in international industry exhibitions.
