“The Gulf Observer”: Uzbekistan preparing a new generation of leaders

ISLAMABAD, July 19. /Dunyo IA/. Pakistani newspaper “The Gulf Observer” has reported that President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on identifying promising future leaders and supporting talented young people through the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the publication, Uzbekistan’s transition to a new stage of development driven by intellectual potential and advanced technologies requires the training of a new generation of professionals for public administration and the national economy.

The presentation noted that, with the use of artificial intelligence, demand has been identified for managerial talent across more than 50 emerging professions. The greatest need is expected in the fields of energy, green technologies, construction, agriculture and water management, digitalization, and services.

The proposed reforms envisage the introduction of a new candidate assessment system based on digital technologies, big data, and artificial intelligence. By 2030, Uzbekistan plans to establish a talent pool of 1,500 next-generation leaders.

The publication also highlights the importance of engaging Uzbek nationals living abroad, as well as graduates and students of the world's top 100 universities, in building the country's national talent reserve. To support this effort, a new “Students Abroad” module is scheduled to be launched on the career.edu.uz platform on October 1, 2026.
