DUSHANBE, August 19. /Dunyo IA/. Popular Tajik Information Agency “Avesta” published an article titled “Mustakillik Generation: New Navigators of the Silk Road”, highlighting how modern Uzbekistan is combining a technological breakthrough, economic openness and cultural revival as it marks the 35th anniversary of its independence, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication notes that the country has a unique demographic profile: more than 60 percent of its population are people under the age of 30. Those turning 35 in 2026 form the “Mustakillik Generation” - a cohort of citizens whose worldview was shaped in an era of global internet connectivity, open borders and rapid reforms.

It emphasizes that Uzbekistan is steadily transforming from a regional consumer of technologies into an exporter of digital services. The “IT Park” has become the heart of this transformation, while the success of young entrepreneurs such as Ziyobek Turdiyev, whose “TheCarGo” platform serves the U.S. market, is a vivid example of the globalization of Uzbekistan’s engineering potential.

According to the publication, an important factor in international integration has been the introduction of a visa-free regime for citizens of more than 90 countries, as well as Uzbekistan’s active role in regional cooperation. The 14^th UNESCO Youth Forum and the “Eco-Zakovat” tournament held in Samarkand, along with the success of young designers on global runways who reinterpret the traditions of ikat in a modern style, were highlighted as vivid examples of the country’s openness.

“Avesta” concludes that Uzbekistan is marking the 35^th Anniversary of Independence not simply as a country with a rich history, but as a dynamic, predictable and forward-looking hub of innovation and international partnership, where the new generation serves as a guarantor of the irreversibility of democratic processes and an active participant in the global agenda.
