“Sada El Balad” IA: Samarkand prepares to host the 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians

CAIRO, August 22. /Dunyo IA/. The 12th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) will be held in Samarkand on September 4–6th under the theme “Restoring Human Rights, Justice and Dignity for All in Times of Instability”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with Egypt’s “Sada El Balad” Information Agency.
Around 300 delegates from 183 countries, 15 international organizations and nearly 50 permanent observers are expected to participate. The conference will feature six thematic sessions focusing on protecting the rights of young people amid conflicts and digital transformation, expanding their political and economic opportunities, employment issues, and preventing violence against women and youth.
The program will also include the Third Global Forum of Parliamentary Cooperation on the Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants will discuss the role of parliaments and young people in advancing the global development agenda.
Working sessions will be held on September 4–5th, while September 6th will be dedicated to a cultural program hosted by the parliament of the country hosting the conference. The conference is expected to conclude with the adoption of a final document containing recommendations from young parliamentarians.
