GENEVA, April 15. /Dunyo IA/. Preparations continue in Uzbekistan for the second Asian Women’s Forum, which will be held on May 13–15 in Bukhara in cooperation with UN agencies, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with Geneva-based magazine “International Diplomat”.

The forum will be a continuation of the initiative to transform this platform into a permanent mechanism for international dialogue, a proposal put forward by the President of Uzbekistan at the 80^th session of the UN General Assembly.

Event is expected to bring together representatives of government agencies, international organizations, and civil society to discuss the empowerment of women in politics, economy, healthcare, education and social protection.

The forum will also serve as a platform for exchanging experience and strengthening regional and global cooperation. Participants will be presented with the results of reforms implemented in Uzbekistan, including measures to support women, develop entrepreneurship, increase employment and improve the social protection system.

Particular attention is planned to be paid to the implementation of international obligations, including the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, UN Security Council Resolution 1325, Beijing Declaration and Sustainable Development Goals.
