WASHINGTON-TEHRAN, July 21. /Dunyo/. The U.S. Armed Forces conducted another series of strikes against command centers of the Iranian Armed Forces, missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) launch sites, as well as naval infrastructure facilities and air defence systems in Iran, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the latest operation lasted approximately five hours. The U.S. strikes against targets in Iran have now continued for the tenth consecutive night.

U.S. officials state that the primary objective of the operation was to degrade Iran’s capabilities to conduct attacks against commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. In addition, it was reported that the number of U.S. service members killed over the past weekend has reached 17.

In response, Iran conducted strikes against U.S. military facilities and equipment in Kuwait, including Camp Al-Adiri and Ali Al-Salem Air Base. In addition, Iranian forces targeted a U.S. military base in Jordan. According to available reports, several U.S. service members were killed as a result of these strikes.

On July 20^th, following the deaths of U.S. service members, U.S. President Donald Trump stated his intention to deliver a strong response to Iran. Over the past week, he has repeatedly noted that the list of sites under consideration as potential targets in Iran could be expanded to include energy infrastructure and bridges.

According to the Pentagon, approximately 430 U.S. service members have been wounded since the beginning of the armed conflict. Of those, 100 service members have been wounded since July 7^th of this year, with 96 percent having already returned to duty.
