KUALA LUMPUR, July 5. /Dunyo IA/.   A scientific and practical visit of the Uzbekistan delegation, which included representatives of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan and the “Ziyo” media center, took place, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the visit, Uzbek specialists visited the Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM), the Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia and leading institutions dedicated to international research on Islamic thought and civilization, where they engaged in a productive exchange of practical expertise with their foreign counterparts.

Delegation familiarized itself with Malaysia's advanced practices concerning the proper understanding of Islam, the preservation of its authentic teachings, the countering of contemporary challenges, and the prevention of the spread of destructive ideologies. The sides underscored that cooperation within scientific research, strategic communications and the formulation of alternative counter-narratives constitutes an imperative necessity to safeguard the youth against radicalization and extremist threats.

Particular attention was directed toward leveraging modern media platforms, including radio, television, and social networks, to broadly disseminate the concepts of enlightened Islam. It was observed that academic research, books, and periodicals published by Malaysian counterparts, alongside their ongoing media initiatives aimed at popularizing Islamic values, present substantial value for reciprocal exchange.

Following the visit, the parties agreed to further expand their bilateral cooperation. The priority areas identified include the organization of academic exchanges, the conduct of joint scientific and practical research, participation in international conferences on topical issues, the creation of high-quality media content and the joint preparation and publication of scientific articles.
