Delegation of Uzbekistan holds constructive meetings in London to strengthen ties

• 86LONDON, January 28. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan participated in the “Bett UK 2026” international education exhibition held in London, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Uzbek delegation held a series of productive meetings and events.
Notably, representatives of Uzbekistan participated in the Education Ministers’ Symposium organized alongside the “Bett UK” international exhibition. The symposium included meetings with officials from foreign ministries and agencies responsible for the education sector, establishing contacts for the development of mutual cooperation in education.
The event brought together leaders and representatives from the ministries of education of Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Korea and the People’s Republic of China.
In a discussion with Ebrahim Matthews, Senior Vice President at “Pearson”, the delegation explored ways to bridge the gap between education and an artificial intelligence-driven economy, emphasizing the need for innovative approaches to curriculum and workforce development.
In a meeting with Saranjit Sangar, Senior Vice President at “Efekta”, officials presented Uzbekistan’s higher education reforms, highlighting efforts to enhance education quality, advance digitalization and expand international cooperation.
With the Program Director of “General Assembly”, the delegation held detailed discussions on training and employment opportunities for Uzbek graduates in fields such as information technology, data analysis and software development.
Discussions with representatives from the UK Ministry of Business and Trade addressed plans to establish branches of top-100 global universities in Uzbekistan.
In talks with Duncan Verry, Director of Global Events at “Bett UK”, Uzbekistan proposed a new regional format for the event - “Bett Central Asia” to be hosted in Uzbekistan.
Finally, meetings with representatives of “AQA” focused on improving the assessment of knowledge and skills, introducing internationally benchmarked evaluation and examination systems and exploring collaboration in vocational and professional education.
