Osh State University hosted an international scientific and theoretical conference dedicated to the 1010th anniversary of the great thinker and statesman Yusuf Khass Hajib, titled “Ancient Manuscripts in the Development of Central Asian Peoples and Their International Role: Language, Literature, Culture and Educational Issues”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The forum was attended by the Consuls General of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in Osh, professors and faculty members from higher education institutions in Tashkent, Fergana, Namangan, Andijan and Samarkand regions, as well as from various regions of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, local media representatives and university students.

The conference was organized jointly by the Alisher Navoi Center for Uzbek Language, Literature and Culture at Osh State University, Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature and the branch of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Kyrgyzstan.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Rector of Osh State University, Kudayberdi Kozhobekov, noted that in recent years, cooperation with neighbouring states in the fields of culture and education has been consistently strengthening and reaching a new level.

“It is well known that Central Asia has been recognized since ancient times as one of the centers of science and enlightenment. Along with the legacy of such outstanding thinkers as Alisher Navoi, Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur and Abu Rayhan Beruni, the work of Yusuf Khass Hajib is an important and inseparable part of our shared cultural heritage. This legacy reflects the historical closeness of our peoples, our spiritual kinship and our desire for joint development”, - he emphasized.

Conference participants also noted that the priceless legacy of Yusuf Khass Hajib belongs not only to the Kyrgyz and Turkic peoples but to all of world civilization. Holding such international conferences facilitates a deeper study of the great legacy of our ancestors by the younger generation.

Within the framework of the forum, a cooperation agreement in the field of education was signed between the Samarkand State Pedagogical Institute and Osh State University. In accordance with the document, students from the two universities will be able to study under a “1+1” program and receive dual degrees upon completion of the joint educational program.

Following the official part, participants continued their work in plenary sessions across various disciplines, presenting their scientific reports. At the conclusion of the event, the most active participants were awarded certificates and commemorative gifts from the organizers.
