Tashkent to host a concert by a popular Romanian band

TASHKENT, May 2. /Dunyo IA/. The Romanian vocal ensemble “Jazzappella” will perform in the capital on May 5, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The concert will take place at 7:00 PM at the open-air venue behind the 'Uzbekistan' Palace of International Forums (80 Uzbekistan Avenue) as part of the International Jazz Festival. Held from April 28 to May 13, 2026, the festival is organized by the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan. The event is supported by the Embassy of Romania and the Romanian Cultural Institute. Admission is free for the public.
Romania was previously represented at the Tashkent International Jazz Festival by musician Petre Ionuțescu in 2024 and the band “Ineffable” in 2023. Those performances were a great success, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience.
The vocal ensemble “Jazzappella” has performed at prestigious venues from Bucharest to Istanbul - and now presents its artistry to the Tashkent public for the first time.
According to the statement by the Ambassador of Romania, Daniel Cristian Ciobanu, bilateral cooperation with Uzbekistan is developing very successfully across all fields. Uzbekistan is a valuable partner for Romania in Central Asia.
In the cultural sphere, Romania maintains an active and highly regarded presence in Uzbekistan. On April 21, 2026, a photo exhibition dedicated to the great Romanian sculptor Constantin Brâncuși opened at the Kamoliddin Behzod Museum of Oriental Miniature Art. From April 1 to April 15, 2026, the “Akademiya” Gallery of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan hosted a photo exhibition titled “George Enescu in France”. Additionally, on March 25, 2026, a poetry evening dedicated to the poet Gherasim Luca was held in Tashkent
