“Rzeczpospolita” Newspaper: Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are attractive destinations for Polish Business

WARSAW, June 11. /Dunyo IA/.  Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan continue to strengthen their positions as some of the most attractive destinations for Polish investors and companies interested in expanding their presence in Central Asian markets, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with the Polish newspaper “Rzeczpospolita”.

The growing interest in the region is highlighted by the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) of Poland, which, alongside other state institutions, supports the expansion of Polish business into foreign markets.

Uzbekistan is considered an especially promising partner for Poland. The country demonstrates steady economic growth at around 5.7% per year, boasts a young population of over 38 million people, and offers businesses competitive conditions, including relatively low costs for electricity, labor and taxation.

Experts note that the economic reforms, infrastructure modernization, and active development of the digital economy underway in Uzbekistan create favorable conditions for foreign investors. Polish companies are showing interest in energy, industry, agriculture, infrastructure projects and the IT sector.

According to “UN Comtrade” data, the trade turnover between Poland and Uzbekistan in 2024 amounted to approximately 469 million US dollars. Within this, Polish exports reached 342 million dollars, while imports from Uzbekistan accounted for 127 million dollars. The cumulative volume of direct Polish investments in the Uzbek economy is estimated at 55–60 million dollars.

Polish business representatives believe that Uzbekistan has the potential to become one of Central Asia's leading IT hubs, driven by its ongoing digital transformation and growing domestic market.

Kazakhstan also remains an important destination for Polish companies, accounting for more than 75% of Poland's trade turnover with Central Asian countries. The volume of mutual trade between the nations reaches approximately 1.9 billion US dollars. In recent years, Kazakhstan has been actively developing high-tech industries, including artificial intelligence, information technology, the crypto industry and data processing centers.

Business missions and intergovernmental commissions play a vital role in developing cooperation. In February 2025, a Polish delegation visited Uzbekistan as part of a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation and in March 2026, a specialized seminar for Polish companies dedicated to opportunities in the republic's energy sector was held in Tashkent with the support of the Polish Embassy.

According to Polish financial institutions and entrepreneurs, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan remain among the most promising markets in Central Asia for long-term cooperation and the implementation of joint investment projects.
