Uzbekistan–Pakistan Business Forum opens new opportunities for bilateral trade in Gujranwala

• 197GUJRANWALA, December 14. /Dunyo IA/. An Uzbekistan–Pakistan Business Forum was held in the city of Gujranwala as part of the visit by Alisher Tukhtaev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The forum brought together more than 70 business leaders and company executives from Gujranwala, Gujrat and Sialkot, representing key sectors including textiles and weaving, metallurgy, leather and footwear manufacturing, as well as woodworking industries.
The Pakistani side was headed by Jamil Saad Irfani, Vice President of the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).
Addressing the participants, Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev presented an overview of Uzbekistan’s steadily improving business and investment climate. He highlighted the comprehensive incentives available to foreign investors, including tax and customs preferences, modern infrastructure, and strong legal safeguards. Particular emphasis was placed on the personal support provided by the President of Uzbekistan to foreign investors, as well as the state guarantees ensuring the protection of their investments.
The forum featured a dedicated question-and-answer session, during which Pakistani entrepreneurs received detailed clarifications on priority investment projects proposed for implementation across various regions of Uzbekistan.
As a key outcome of the event, the sides agreed to organize a Pakistani business mission to Uzbekistan in February 2026, comprising representatives of metallurgical, chemical, textile and leather companies. The parties also agreed to maintain regular dialogue, hold online negotiations, and jointly develop a comprehensive programme for familiarizing the delegation with regional investment projects and exploring opportunities for the establishment of joint ventures.
The forum was seen as an important step toward deepening economic ties and expanding practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
