“Hello Magyar”: Uzbekistan and Pakistan advance cooperation in shaping a shared geoeconomic space

BUDAPEST, February 4. /Dunyo IA/.  The popular Hungarian online publication “Hello Magyar” has published an article by Umarbek Nuriddinov, Chief Researcher at the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies (ISRS) under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, focusing on the prospects for deepening Uzbekistan - Pakistan cooperation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The publication highlights the key outcomes of the “roundtable” titled “Uzbekistan - Pakistan: Building Regional Links and Creating New Opportunities”. The author emphasizes that Uzbekistan and Pakistan are located within a shared geoeconomic space in Central and South Asia, possessing significant economic, transit, resource and human potential.

The article pays particular attention to the impact of global transformations on the international economic environment, characterized by rising uncertainty, fragmented supply chains, increasing protectionism and sanctions regimes as well as climate and resource challenges. In this context, the expert argues, the formation of sustainable models of regional and interregional partnership becomes of critical importance.

Priority areas for Uzbekistan - Pakistan cooperation include the development of transport and logistics corridors, the creation of joint value chains, industrial collaboration in the agro-industrial complex, textile, pharmaceutical and mining sectors as well as the expansion of cooperation in information technology.

The article also highlights the significant potential for collaboration in education, training, and workforce retraining, which, according to the author, provides a foundation for long-term economic growth and enhances the competitiveness of both countries’ economies.

In conclusion, deepening engagement between Uzbekistan and Pakistan aligns with their long-term national interests, helps unlock untapped potential and contributes to the creation of a sustainable, predictable and stable regional environment.
