ASHGABAT, August 3. /Dunyo IA/. An analytical article dedicated to Uzbekistan’s economic transformation, investment potential and the country’s expanding role in global economic processes has been published on the website of “Orient”, a leading Turkmen news agency, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Publication, titled “G20 and Uzbekistan: Investments, Industry and Trade in the New Economic Reality”, notes that Uzbekistan has entered a new stage of development, in which domestic reforms are becoming increasingly interconnected with global economic trends. According to the authors of the article, the priorities discussed within the framework of the Group of Twenty (G20) - sustainable development, industrialization, energy transition, digitalization, trade, food security and access to capital - largely correspond to the objectives being implemented in Uzbekistan.
As highlighted in the publication, the G20 countries shape a significant part of the global economic agenda, influencing the direction of capital flows, the development of international trade, technological standards, and approaches to sustainable growth. In this context, Uzbekistan is viewed as a country that is consistently integrating into global value chains and creating favourable conditions for long-term cooperation with international partners.
Special attention in the article is devoted to the investment sector. It is noted that in recent years, attracting foreign investment has become one of the central pillars of Uzbekistan’s economic policy. The creation of a favourable business environment, the development of modern financial institutions, strengthening the protection of investors’ rights, and the introduction of new financing mechanisms are forming the foundation for expanding international partnerships.
Publication also highlights the importance of establishing the Tashkent International Financial Centre, which is designed to enhance the country’s attractiveness for foreign capital through modern legal instruments, the development of fintech, digital financial solutions, and green financing mechanisms.
Authors also draw attention to Uzbekistan’s accession process to the World Trade Organization, considering it an important stage of economic transformation. According to Orient, integration into the WTO rules-based system contributes to improving regulatory transparency, expanding opportunities for exporters, and strengthening confidence among the international business community.
As noted by “Orient”, Central Asia is gradually transforming into an important connecting region between major economic centers, while Uzbekistan is emerging as one of the key platforms for implementing transport, industrial and investment projects.
