BISHKEK, August 3. /Dunyo IA/. Construction of the 304-kilometer Kyrgyz section of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway has already commenced across all designated directions, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the “Kabar” National Information Agency of Kyrgyzstan, construction work is progressing slightly ahead of the scheduled timeframe.
As Azamat Sakiev, Director General of the “Kyrgyz Temir Zholu” National Company State Enterprise, informed the agency, construction work is currently underway on tunnels, bridges, roadbeds, and other infrastructure facilities.
Head of “Kyrgyz Temir Zholu” also stated that during the project’s implementation, utmost attention is being paid to environmental preservation. According to him, the routes are being designed to avoid protected conservation areas, and complex segments are routed through tunnels to minimize environmental impact. Furthermore, Azamat Sakiev noted that the project's realization will significantly expand Kyrgyzstan's transit capabilities.
It is worth recalling that on the eve of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Kyrgyzstan, the Ministers of Transport of two nations, Ilkhom Makhkamov and Talantbek Soltoboyev, conducted a joint inspection tour along the entire route and reviewed the progress of work at the key sites of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway currently under construction on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
