Anvar Shermatov, Chairman of the Uzbek-German Society “Davra”:
- I have been living in Berlin for 26 years. I received my education here, and today I am engaged in entrepreneurship in the fields of tourism and foreign language instruction. Thanks to the reforms being implemented in our country under the leadership of the esteemed President, the organization of an Iftar at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Berlin on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan has become a significant and joyful event for us, compatriots abroad. We were able to gather at the same table with imams who arrived from our Motherland and fellow citizens to discuss important and topical issues. In this regard, on behalf of the compatriots living in Europe, I express my deep gratitude to the head of our state and the organizers of the event. We hope that such spiritual and educational events will continue to be held in the future.
Alisher Kadirov, a primary school teacher at one of Berlin's schools:
- Iftar organized by the Embassy left me with very warm impressions. From the speeches of the Ambassador and the Imams, we received detailed information about the reforms in Uzbekistan, the opportunities being created for the youth, and educational matters. Such events further strengthen our spiritual connection with the Motherland. Moreover, the work carried out by our Embassy to support compatriots, protect their rights and interests and encourage young people to take a more active stance serves as an important moral support for us. We feel this at every such meeting. In the future, I would like to dedicate the knowledge and experience I have gained abroad to the development of our country.
