CAIRO, September 23. /Dunyo IA/.   An article dedicated to the expansion of Uzbekistan-Egypt cooperation in the fields of agriculture and food security has been published by the Egyptian outlet “Liga Hispano Arabe”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication reports that Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk received a high-level government delegation from Uzbekistan. The meeting discussed prospects for joint activities in the agricultural sector and support for bilateral investment. Alaa Farouk emphasized the strength of the historical ties between the two countries and noted the directives of the highest political leadership to elevate economic and agricultural partnership to a new level in order to ensure sustainable food security.

In turn, members of the Uzbek delegation highly appreciated the significant progress in Egypt’s agricultural sector, expressing interest in gaining experience from Egypt and adopting modern technologies in seed production, as well as advanced practices in crop cultivation.

As summarized by the publication, the sides agreed to develop practical mechanisms for expanding cooperation in livestock production, veterinary medicine and applied scientific research, provide comprehensive support for direct partnerships between government institutions, research centers and the private sector, and organize mutual official visits in the period ahead.
