DELHI, February 4. /Dunyo IA/. Representatives from Uzbekistan are taking part in the 12th International Young Chef Olympiad (YCO), which is currently being held in India, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
This culinary forum, organized by the International Institute of Hotel Management in partnership with the International Council on Hospitality, has brought together talented chefs under the age of 25 from 40 countries.
Uzbekistan is a regular and successful participant in the YCO. Performances by young chefs from our country traditionally capture the attention of both the jury and the guests of the Olympiad, showcasing the richness and sophistication of Uzbek cuisine to the world.
In 2025, representatives from Uzbekistan confidently entered the top 10 best teams in the world, confirming the high level of the national culinary school.
This year, the honor of representing Uzbekistan at the 12th Olympiad goes to Ozodbek Odilov from the International Center of Uzbek Culinary Arts under the Chefs Association of Uzbekistan. His mentor and team leader is the experienced chef Ahmad Khamdamov.
The YCO is not just a competition but a major educational culinary event for young talents. It includes not only intense contests where participants prepare dishes according to the jury’s assignments, but also masterclasses from world culinary legends, cultural exchange, and professional networking opportunities.
Participation in such events is of great importance for young specialists. Primarily, the YCO serves as an ideal platform for gifted young chefs from Uzbekistan to enter the global stage. Contestants get a unique chance to test their skills under tough competition, learn cutting-edge trends in world gastronomy, and, through their culinary art, act as ambassadors of Uzbek culture, introducing the international community to national traditions and hospitality.
