KARACHI, September 8. /Dunyo IA/.  Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, met in Karachi with representatives of the Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) and the Manager of the “Bin Qasim Industrial Park Special Economic Zone” Javed Ahmed, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, parties discussed the utilization of the potential of Pakistan’s special economic zones by Uzbek enterprises, the expansion of industrial cooperation, and the establishment of joint production facilities.

Particular attention was paid to the opportunities for exporting Uzbek products through the seaports of Karachi to third countries, including African markets.

Pakistani side expressed interest in studying Uzbekistan's experience in establishing economic zones, attracting foreign investors, and protecting their rights. Representatives of the corporation also presented the investment and infrastructural capabilities of the “Bin Qasim Industrial Park”.

Park spans over 400 hectares and is located six kilometers from Port Qasim. Enterprises operating within its territory cover automotive, electronics, metallurgical and other industries.

Furthermore, Pakistani side presented the Karachi Industrial Park project and proposed exploring the possibility of creating a dedicated industrial and logistics block for Uzbek enterprises on its territory.
