Parliamentary Delegation of Uzbekistan participates in the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Tanzania

ARUSHA, October 6. /Dunyo IA/. Yesterday, 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union commenced its work in the Tanzanian city of Arusha, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the upper house of parliament, this representative event, organized by the National Assembly of Tanzania, is attended by more than 2,000 speakers and members of parliament from over 180 countries, alongside representatives of international organizations.
A parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan, led by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva, is also participating in the work of the Assembly.
Main theme of the event is “Improving effective governance and empowering societies through inclusiveness, trust and opportunities for all”.
Within the framework of the Assembly and its plenary sessions, pressing issues of global and regional significance will be discussed, such as inclusive social development, ensuring human rights, utilization of artificial intelligence, climate change, food security, protecting the rights of persons with disabilities and combating terrorism.
Election of the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union is also scheduled to take place within the framework of the Assembly.
