Community Iftar held in Yekaterinburg for Uzbek Nationals

• 89YEKATERINBURG, March 12. /Dunyo IA/. The staff of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan organized a festive Iftar for compatriots in Yekaterinburg, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event was part of the Consulate’s systematic efforts to support the Uzbek diaspora abroad during the holy month of Ramadan.
In his welcoming speech, Consul General Jahongir Parmonov congratulated participants on the sacred month and spoke about the care of the President of Uzbekistan for citizens living abroad. He emphasized the importance of spiritual and moral values, the role of Islam in strengthening interfaith and interethnic harmony and the need to preserve traditions and cultural heritage.
The Imam-Khatib of the “Baland” Mosque in Tashkent, Azamjon Ergashev, congratulated the participants and spoke about the spiritual and humanistic values of Islam. During an interactive session, young compatriots received answers to questions of both religious and secular nature.
For the guests, video presentations were prepared showcasing Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and sacred sites, as well as handouts highlighting national traditions, cultural heritage and the role of Islam in society.
The Iftar concluded with a festive table featuring traditional Uzbek dishes, including plov. Participants noted that such events strengthen ties with the homeland and foster an atmosphere of unity and support for compatriots living abroad.
