Senate Speaker of Uzbekistan Discusses Expansion of Cooperation with Parliamentary Speakers of Azerbaijan and Belarus in Istanbul

• 253ISTANBUL, April 20. /Dunyo IA/. Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva held meetings in Istanbul with the speakers of the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Belarus, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the upper house of parliament, during talks with Speaker of the Milli Majlis (parliament) of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova, the parties noted the consistent development of interparliamentary relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
The sides discussed further expansion of cooperation, including the organization of the Second Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Forum and the implementation of joint initiatives.
During a meeting with Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik, the parties reviewed priority areas of interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
In particular, they discussed the organization of the next Uzbekistan-Belarus Interparliamentary Forum, meetings of parliamentary leaders, the Forum of Young Parliamentarians, as well as the development of cooperation between regional representative bodies.
The meetings highlighted the special importance of interparliamentary forums and parliamentary commissions as practical and effective mechanisms for strengthening bilateral relations.
