Uzbekistan and Pakistan Discuss Launch of New Textile Investment Projects

• 296TASHKENT, April 20. /Dunyo IA/. At the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, a working visit of Khurram Haroon, CEO of one of Pakistan’s largest textile groups, Indus Apparel Group, was organized to Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the visit, Khurram Haroon held talks with Deputy Director of the Agency for the Development of Light Industry Ruxullo Zikrillayev. The parties discussed the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the textile and spinning sectors, with special focus on establishing production cooperation for high value-added products and diversifying export directions.
As part of the program, the investor visited the Tashkent-based enterprise Zelal Tekstil, where he discussed modern technological processes and export opportunities for finished products with company founder Firat Deniz.
To assess Uzbekistan’s investment climate, Khurram Haroon also visited the Tashkent, Namangan, Andijan, Samarkand, and Bukhara regions. During the trip, he became acquainted with the operations of major textile producers, including Tashkent Cotton Textile, Chust Textile, Asaka Textile, Khantex Group, Buxoro Cotton Textile, and Merganteks, studying their production capacities, technical equipment, and export potential.
Following the visit, the parties agreed to launch joint investment projects and outlined a roadmap for further practical steps aimed at strengthening industrial cooperation and elevating textile collaboration between Uzbekistan and Pakistan to a new level.
