GENEVA, June 10. /Dunyo IA/. On the sidelines of the 114th Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a high-level meeting with Beate Andrees, Assistant Director-General for the Regions and Director of the Office of the Director-General · International Labour Organization, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the information of the Senate Press Service, the discussions focused significantly on the comprehensive strategic reforms being undertaken in Uzbekistan aimed at institutionalizing progressive labor relations, fortifying the national social protection framework and advancing the core principles of the Decent Work Agenda.

Beate Andrees highly commended the ongoing reforms in the country and expressed the ILO's readiness to further expand cooperation with Uzbekistan, supporting joint programs and initiatives.

An exchange of views took place on measures to implement international labour standards into national legislation and to strengthen the social protection of the population.

During the conversation, the parties also reviewed preparations for the 12^th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, which will be held on September 4-6 of this year in the city of Samarkand. The ILO expressed its interest in assisting with the organization of this prestigious international forum and in the participation of the organization's representatives.
