MOSCOW, September 25. /Dunyo IA/.  Russian media outlets have given considerable coverage to the address by Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva at the General Debate of the 81^st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publications by TASS, RIA Novosti, “Yandex.News”, “Dzen”, “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”, “Lenta.ru” and other news outlets have presented the address as reflecting Uzbekistan’s long-term foreign policy strategy based on openness, good-neighborliness and pragmatic dialogue.

Russian media focused primarily on geopolitical initiatives, regional security issues and the reform of international institutions. In particular, they quoted statements on the need to enhance the effectiveness of the UN, expand the Security Council and improve mechanisms for implementing adopted decisions.

Particular attention was also given to the environmental consequences of the Aral Sea disaster and international challenges related to the development of artificial intelligence. Russian media outlets also cited Uzbekistan’s economic indicators and highlighted changes taking place in Central Asia, including the transition from border disputes to the development of partnership.

Considerable attention was devoted to Uzbekistan’s position on Afghanistan. Russian media outlets quoted the call not to view the country solely as a source of threats, but rather to help create conditions for its population to return to a peaceful life.

In addition, Russian media reported on Uzbekistan’s nomination of its candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for the 2035–2036 term.

Coverage of Saida Mirziyoyeva’s diplomatic activities in New York also went beyond her address to the General Assembly. The media reported on her meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, as well as talks with representatives of U.S. businesses and technology companies, including “Google” and “DFC”.
