ISLAMABAD, July 17. /Dunyo IA/.   Pakistani online publications “Global News Pakistan”, “Diplomatic Affairs”, “MNN News” and “The World News” reported on the introduction of the value-added tax (Tax Free) refund system for foreign citizens in Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Their publications note that since April 1^st, 2026, the system has been operating in all international airports of the country and allows foreign tourists to reclaim VAT for goods purchased on the territory of Uzbekistan.

Refunds are available in cash or via bank card transfer. When choosing the non-cash method, the funds are transferred within three business days after the goods are exported outside the country.

According to media estimates, the implementation of the ‘Tax Free’ system will enhance Uzbekistan's tourism attractiveness, contribute to the growth of retail trade, and further develop the tourism industry. In addition, to simplify the procedure, its further digitalization using modern information technologies and mobile solutions is planned.
