A student from Uzbekistan wins SCO Competition dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the organization

BEIJING, June 13. /Dunyo IA/. From April 1st to May 20th, the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) held a competition for the best scientific article among undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students of universities from the organization's member states, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was timed to coincide with the anniversary of the SCO and aimed at stimulating research activities on issues of the organization's development.

The competition was held under the general theme “25 Years of the SCO: Partnership for a Sustainable Future”. In total, more than 600 scientific papers submitted in Chinese, Russian and English were entered into the competition. By the decision of the organizing committee, first place was awarded on the principle of “one winner from each SCO member state”.

From Uzbekistan, the winner was Nilufar Muratbaeva, a 3rd-year student at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. Her work was dedicated to the topic “From Regional Cooperation to Sustainable Transformation: The Role of the SCO in Supporting Institutional and Digital Adaptation in Central Asia”.

The winners of the competition will be awarded diplomas from the SCO Secretary-General and jubilee medallions dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the organization. The awards will be transmitted through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and the embassies of the SCO member states in Beijing.

The organizers noted the high interest in the competition from the youth. In addition to citizens of the SCO member countries, young researchers from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Yemen, Moldova, Mongolia and Turkmenistan also participated in it. The best works will be recognized with additional incentives from the SCO Secretariat.
