SAINT PETERSBURG, June 13. /Dunyo IA/. As part of the working visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan to Saint Petersburg, meetings were held on June 12th with more than 3, 000 citizens of Uzbekistan engaged in labour activities at the facilities of the “Stroy-Continental” residential complex, LLC “Rencons Heavy Industries”, “Limak Construction”, “SK78”, “Pervy Yarous” and other enterprises of Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meetings, compatriots received detailed information and guidance on compliance with the migration, labour and administrative legislation of the Russian Federation, as well as on the protection of their rights and legitimate interests.
With the participation of a representative of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, a series of spiritual and educational events was organized to promote traditional moral values, prevent offenses, and enhance citizens’ legal awareness.
As a result of the work carried out, wage arrears owed to Uzbek citizens amounting to more than USD 47,000 were recovered. Eight passports unlawfully retained by employers were returned to their owners, and targeted consular and legal assistance was provided to citizens in need.
In addition, more than 1,000 citizens of Uzbekistan were registered with the consular records.
