ROTTERDAM, June 10. /Dunyo IA/. On the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, compatriots gathered together in Rotterdam to watch a friendly match between the national teams of our country and the Netherlands, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the event, participants exchanged views on Uzbekistan's recent achievements in the sports sphere, the country's growing prestige in world football and the significance of sports diplomacy.

It was noted that such meetings serve not only to support the national team but also to strengthen unity and solidarity among compatriots living abroad, as well as to enhance the sense of love and devotion to the Motherland.

A table reflecting the national traditions and hospitality of Uzbekistan was organized for the guests. The warm atmosphere, friendly interaction, and upbeat mood gave the event a special flavour.

As a reminder, the Uzbekistan national team played two friendly matches. In the first match against Canada, which took place on June 2^nd at “Commonwealth” Stadium in Edmonton, the team lost with a score of 0:2. The game was played under heavy rain, which affected the players' performance.

The second friendly match took place on June 8 at “Icahn” Stadium in New York against the Netherlands national team and ended in a 1:2 defeat for Uzbekistan. Despite the results, these matches served as a crucial preparation phase for the World Cup and provided valuable match experience for the team.

The compatriots emphasized that such events play an important role not only in sports but also in strengthening cultural and diplomatic ties, as well as in uniting Uzbeks abroad.
