“The World News”: Imam al-Bukhari complex in Samarkand welcomes over 1 million visitors since reopening

ISLAMABAD, May 17. /Dunyo IA/. During the first month following its reopening, the renovated Imam al-Bukhari Complex in Samarkand welcomed over 1 million visitors, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with reference to the Pakistani portal “The World News”.
It is noted that within the framework of a large-scale reconstruction, the site was modernized and expanded, becoming one of the largest pilgrimage centers in the region.
Prior to the reconstruction, the complex could accommodate approximately 12,000 visitors per day, whereas following the renovation, its capacity has expanded to 65,000 people daily.
Visitors highly praise the well-landscaped grounds, green spaces, comfortable pedestrian pathways and advanced infrastructure. In the evening, the complex acquires a distinct architectural expression due to its illumination system, making it an exceptionally attractive tourist site.
The portal emphasizes that the memorial complex plays a vital role in the development of pilgrimage tourism in Uzbekistan and contributes to the preservation and popularization of the heritage of Islamic civilization.
