RIGA, May 17. /Dunyo IA/. With the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, and JSC “Trade Development Company,” a new warehouse has been opened at the Port of Riga, intended for the storage, processing, and subsequent distribution of Uzbek products, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The project is aimed at organizing regular supplies of fruits and vegetables, food products, textiles, and other goods from Uzbekistan to European markets. The new logistics facility is expected to function as a distribution hub, ensuring deliveries not only to the Baltic countries but also to other European states.

A showroom featuring samples of Uzbek products has also been established on the warehouse premises. Plans include the creation of capacities for processing, sorting, and packaging products in accordance with European market requirements, which will enhance the competitiveness of Uzbek exports.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of business circles from Uzbekistan and Latvia, logistics companies, and importers. The parties discussed the expansion of supplies, the development of transport and logistics routes, and long-term cooperation between the business communities of both countries.

As part of the visit of Uzbek entrepreneurs, a retail outlet called “Uzbek Bazaar” was also opened in central Riga, showcasing products made in Uzbekistan. The project is aimed at promoting Uzbek brands and expanding their presence in the Latvian consumer market.

It was noted that the opening of new logistics and trade facilities is expected to increase Uzbekistan’s export potential, diversify export destinations, and strengthen the position of domestic producers in European markets.
