During the visit, a productive meeting was held with Charlotte Kramer, President of the publishing house, Vice President Alexander Wilhelm, and the company’s leading specialists. It is noteworthy that the event coincided with World Book Day, lending the dialogue a special atmosphere of professional and cultural unity.
During the meeting, it was particularly emphasized that since 2017, the “Mueller & Schindler” publishing house, in close cooperation with the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan (WOSCU), has implemented a series of outstanding facsimile projects that have garnered international acclaim.
Charlotte Kramer, President of the “Mueller & Schindler” publishing house, particularly noted:
- Allow me to express my sincere gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the large-scale, systematic and truly historic work being carried out in this direction. Such profound attention to culture at the highest level of state leadership is an exceptional phenomenon and serves as an example for the global community. Over more than a decade of our cooperation, we have had the opportunity to witness firsthand the depth of the ongoing transformations and the genuine personal involvement of the country's leadership in the development of the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
Khayriddin Sultanov, Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan and People’s Writer of Uzbekistan, expressed his sincere gratitude to the partners for their consistent and highly professional activities. He particularly emphasized their significant contribution to the promotion of Uzbekistan’s culture on the international stage and described the publishing house representatives as reliable friends of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the latest facsimile editions, discussed prospects for future joint projects, and exchanged expert opinions on the promotion of Uzbekistan’s historical and cultural heritage on the international stage.
Particular attention was paid to the tourism book project “Uzbekistan: The Golden Road to Samarkand”, aimed at expanding the global perception of the country through a comprehensive presentation of its regions, unique architectural heritage, historical cities, natural diversity and modern cultural environment. The project is designed to shape a cohesive visual and narrative image of Uzbekistan for the international audience.
As part of the discussion on prospective areas of cooperation, Khayriddin Sultanov proposed an initiative to prepare and publish the “Institutes of Temur” (Tuzuk-i-Timuri) in the Spanish language - one of the key historical sources reflecting the state structure, principles of governance, and strategic thinking of the Temurid era.
It was noted that the implementation and distribution of this project will significantly broaden access for the Spanish-speaking audience to the unique heritage of the Temurid era, deepen scholarly and academic interest in the region's history, and contribute to the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian ties between Uzbekistan and the countries of the Hispanophone world.
The “Mueller & Schindler” publishing house supported this initiative, emphasizing its high scientific and cultural significance. According to the publishing house representatives, the publication of the “Institutes of Temur” in Spanish will be an important contribution to the development of international dialogue and will allow the European reader to discover the fundamental foundations of statehood and legal thought of the Temurid era.
The visit served as an important milestone in the development of international publishing and cultural cooperation, confirming the growing interest of the global audience in the rich historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan.
