OSLO, June 27. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbekistan and Norway have commenced the implementation of a new three-year project aimed at refining the regulatory and legal framework in the field of radiation and nuclear safety, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Project is funded under the framework of the Norwegian Nuclear Action Plan and is implemented jointly with the Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, alongside its technical support organization, the Scientific and Technical Center for Radiation and Nuclear Safety.

Primary vectors of cooperation will encompass the development of national regulatory instruments, the enhancement of the state regulatory oversight system in the sphere of radiation and nuclear safety, as well as the comprehensive study and integration of advanced international best practices.

According to information released by the Norwegian Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (DSA), representatives of the Norwegian delegation conducted a series of meetings with relevant ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan during their visit to Tashkent.

Sides thoroughly discussed the strategic objectives of the project, its priority vectors, and practical tasks aimed at the further reinforcement of the national system for ensuring radiation and nuclear safety.
