BELGRADE, October 9. /Dunyo IA/.   A delegation from Uzbekistan, headed by the First Deputy Chairperson of the Committee on Family and Women Umida Abdullaeva, visited Serbia where it participated in the international conference “RISE 2026” and held a series of negotiations, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Forum “Belgrade Women’s Conference RISE 2026” brought together high-level delegations from 17 countries, representatives of government bodies, international organizations and business circles. Umida Abdullaeva presented Uzbekistan’s experience in enhancing women’s socio-political activity, developing their economic independence, and expanding their participation in government decision-making.

During the visit, meetings were held with president of the National Assembly Ana Brnabić and Minister without Portfolio responsible for Gender Equality Tatjana Macura. Parties discussed the prospects for joint initiatives, support for women’s entrepreneurship and the strengthening of business ties between the two countries.

Following the negotiations with Tatjana Macura, an agreement was reached on the preparation of a memorandum of cooperation between the Committee on Family and Women of Uzbekistan and the relevant structures of Serbia. Its signing is planned within the framework of one of the upcoming high-level visits.

The Serbian side confirmed its readiness to organize the Serbian-Uzbek Women's Business Forum in Belgrade in the first half of 2027. It was also proposed to hold a joint event within the framework of the international exhibition EXPO 2027 in Belgrade, while Tatjana Macura expressed interest in participating in the International Women's Forum scheduled for 2027 in Samarkand.

During the meeting, Ana Brnabić emphasized the special significance of developing a strategic partnership with Uzbekistan and expressed interest in an official visit to the country in 2027. She also noted the importance of the practical implementation of the 21 documents signed during the summit in Belgrade.
