ALMATY, September 22. /Dunyo IA/.  Consulate General of Uzbekistan participated in the festive events dedicated to Almaty City Day, showcasing the country's national culture, traditions and tourism potential, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

As part of the large-scale cultural program, an Uzbek national pavilion was organized, where residents and guests of the city were introduced to the history and traditions of the Uzbek people, national cuisine, folk crafts and samples of national attire, ceramics and decorative and applied arts.

Particular attention was paid to promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan. Visitors were presented with the country's rich historical and cultural heritage and popular tourist destinations. More than 2,000 informational and promotional materials were distributed.

Uzbek national pavilion was visited by Deputy Akim of Almaty City Abzal Nukenov, Akim of Almaly District Arman Shamshin, deputies of the city maslikhat, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, as well as city residents and foreign tourists.

In total, more than 10,000 people attended the festive events. Uzbekistan's participation served as a platform for a broad presentation of the country's national culture and tourism opportunities and also contributed to the development of cultural and humanitarian ties and the strengthening of friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
