AHRENSBURG, June 3. /Dunyo IA/. Young musicians from Uzbekistan took part in the 19th International Chamber Orchestra Festival, which was held from May 28 to June 1 in the city of Ahrensburg, in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The festival has been held every two years since 1986. This year, Uzbekistan became the first country from Central Asia to be represented at this international music forum. The participation of the Symphony Orchestra of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi was organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany, the Ahrensburg City Hall, and the Association “Jugendorchester Ahrensburg e.V.”

At the opening ceremony, Ahrensburg Mayor Eckart Boege welcomed Uzbekistan’s participation among the festival’s guest countries and emphasized the importance of building new friendships.

The festival’s opening concert was performed by Uzbek musicians under the direction of conductor Azamkhon Akhmedov. The program featured works by Uzbek composers Mukhtar Tadjiev, Sulaimon Mukhamedov, Kamola Akhmedova, Muzaffar Otajonov, and Mustafo Bafoyev, as well as masterpieces of world classical music, including compositions by Carl Maria von Weber and Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

The performance by the Uzbek musicians was warmly received by the German audience and was met with prolonged applause. Spectators were particularly impressed by the combination of national musical motifs, academic performance traditions, and contemporary interpretations.

As part of the festival, young Uzbek soloists also performed, including clarinetist Asilbek Yuldashev, violinist Saidrasul Abdurakhmanov, cellist Zaretta Ibragimova, and harpist Alexandra Zharikova. Their performances demonstrated the high level of professional training and creative potential of Uzbekistan’s young musicians.

Jens Voss, Chairman of “Jugendorchester Ahrensburg e.V.” and the festival organizer, noted that the arrival of young musicians from Uzbekistan was a special event for the festival. According to him, audiences heard works that had never before been performed in the concert hall, while the enthusiasm and professionalism of the Uzbek orchestra made a strong impression on the public.

One of the audience members, Bernd Kloke, also shared his impressions, describing the concert as an unforgettable event. He emphasized that music unites peoples and helps strengthen friendship between nations, while the high quality of the performance reflects the development of arts and culture in Uzbekistan.

Conductor Azamkhon Akhmedov stated that participation in the festival was an important milestone for the orchestra. According to him, the musicians were delighted to have the opportunity to represent Uzbekistan for the first time at such a prestigious international venue and intend to continue introducing global audiences to Uzbek musical art.

The festival concluded with a joint concert featuring musicians from different countries, symbolizing cultural dialogue and international cooperation through music.
