ANKARA, April 29. /Dunyo IA/. A scientific and practical conference dedicated to the anniversary of the great commander and statesman Amir Temur was held in the capital of Türkiye, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event opened with the national anthems of both countries, followed by the screening of a documentary film on the life of Sahibkiran. Officials emphasized his exceptional role in Turkic history and in shaping the so-called “Second Renaissance,” noting that he is regarded as a symbol of justice, discipline, and deep respect for knowledge.

Rector of Ankara Social Sciences University Musa Kazım Arıcan recalled Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s admiration for the great strategist. In 1922, Atatürk symbolically presented the sword of his illustrious predecessor to a soldier who liberated Izmir, recognizing the scale of his achievements. Representative of the Justice and Development Party Kürşad Zorlu highlighted the legacy of state-building that transformed Samarkand, Bukhara, and Herat into major centers of civilization.

As part of the commemorative events, theatrical performances of “Temur and Yildirim” were launched across various provinces of Türkiye, while cinemas began screening the film “Temur – The Rebirth of the Last Conqueror.”

The program concluded with a panel session featuring scholars. Professors Bakhritdin Usmanov, Shadmon Khaetov, Oguzhan Durmus, and Mesut Karakulak presented papers on the influence of the Timurid era on the development of the Turkic language, the formation of global order systems, and the relevance of governance practices from that period for modern generations.
