ANKARA, August 4. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbek diplomats, in cooperation with the “O‘zbegim” Women's Support Society, met with compatriots working in various fields across Türkiye, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the most pressing issues faced by the citizens were discussed and clarifications were provided on obtaining consular services.

Participants of the event were presented with information on the socio-political reforms being carried out in our country, the decrees and resolutions adopted in recent years in the field of labour migration, as well as state support measures for compatriots working abroad.

In addition, information was provided to the participants regarding the “Göçbil” information system of the Directorate General of Migration Management under the Ministry of Interior of Türkiye. Practical explanations were given on the procedure for using the system, the list of required documents, the process for issuing and extending residence permits (ikamet), as well as the deadlines for submitting relevant applications. Particular attention was paid to the necessity of using exclusively the official website of the system, as well as preventing fraud, illegal actions of intermediaries, and potential financial losses when utilizing their services.

During the meeting, appeals from citizens were heard, and answers to their legal questions were provided. In particular, in accordance with the established procedure, appeals were accepted from four citizens who had not received wages from their employers, as well as from eight citizens who found themselves in difficult life situations. Practical work aimed at protecting their rights and legitimate interests has been initiated for each appeal.

Furthermore, the participants of the meeting proposed to consider the introduction of systematic preventive and explanatory briefings for citizens during the process of issuing passports for travel abroad. According to the participants, such briefings should be aimed at preventing cases of human trafficking, family conflicts, causes leading to divorce, as well as other socio-legal risks that citizens, particularly Uzbek women living and working abroad, may encounter.
